The Afro+ Fest inaugural event turned out to be a huge triumph. On August 31’s Sunday, organisers took control of the RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, D.C., where Gunna unexpectedly brought Wizkid on stage for their live debut of “forever be mine.”

The rapper was in the middle of performing a track from The Last Wun when Wizkid slowly exited the scene in a video posted on the rapper’s Instagram. The two artists exchanged a greeting, hugged, and performed a live version of the Turbo-produced track for the enthusiastic crowd.

The Nigerian singer suddenly exclaimed “Wiz!” before Gunna began his own verse: “Slow it down, baby, we don’t have to hurry / Unless you want me to go faster / Hit it like a clutch, put some speed on it, uh.” View the video footage that follows.

Afro+ Fest’s debut featured a large lineup of artists from all over the world, as previously mentioned by Naijahomeland. The festival also featured co-headliner Asake, alongside Shenseea, Uncle Waffles, Foggieraw, and Shy Glizzy, in addition to Gunna.

The “fukumean” rapper has not officially made public any plans for a tour of The Last Wun, making the festival one of the first opportunities fans have had to see him live since the album was released in August. Gunna stated to iHeartRadio that he is the creative force behind the project, which he described as evolving from One of Wun to WUNNA. Personally, I have the feeling I’m the only one remaining, and I’m certain I’m the last one in this place. You chose the stone sculpture because I believe stones are extremely durable and last an eternity.

The Last Wun comprised 25 songs, making it one of Gunna’s most extensive projects to date. The album included early singles “won’t stop” and “him all along,” as well as contributions from Offset, Burna Boy, Nechie, and Asake. The Georgia native expressed his gratitude to everyone who assisted him with the album by saying, “Shout out to everybody who helped me put this album together, man,” on the radio.
