Pooh Shiesty has been released from federal prison ahead of schedule, and numerous fans, acquaintances and fellow rappers are responding to the news. Gucci Mane was one of those individuals who posted on Instagram to commemorate the Memphis artist’s release.

The founder of 1017 Records signed Shiesty to a deal in collaboration with Atlantic Records in 2020. Welcome back home Pooh Shiesty. Gucci posted on his Instagram Stories, “The MainSlime is back,” accompanied by several cold face emojis.

In 2022, Shiesty received a 63-month prison sentence, with one year deducted for time served, for gun-related charges. He was also separately indicted in 2021 for allegedly robbing and shooting two people for a pair of sneakers and drugs, along with two accomplices. Shiesty pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess a firearm for the purpose of facilitating violent and drug-trafficking crimes, rather than going to trial. On October 6, the rapper from the “Back in Blood” group was released after completing three years of his prison term.

Notably, despite his widespread fame, Shiesty has not yet released a traditional debut album. In 2021, he issued his inaugural official mixtape, Shiesty Season, which included guest appearances by BIG30, Lil Durk, Tay Keith, 21 Savage, and others, such as Gucci Mane. He made multiple appearances on 1017’s So Icy series of compilations.

He kept it real 100 percent of the time. “He wrote on Instagram that Pooh Shiesty is ready, and you should wait until you see his comeback.” He will be even larger than he has ever been. It’s consistently a pleasure to witness a client commence the ascent back towards elite standing. [He] always kept it 100. The government originally intended for him to receive 10, but he ultimately received only three, a development that I always believe suggests there is a larger plan at play in people’s lives, and his story is far from over; it’s merely just beginning.
