The Grammy Awards organization has responded to Davido’s social media post following his loss to South African artist Tyla at the 68th Grammy Awards.

On February 2, 2026, the DMW boss spoke out after not winning the Best African Music Performance award for the third time despite being nominated. Tyla won the category with her song “Push 2 Start” from her album Tyla, which surpassed other nominees such as Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat,” Burna Boy’s “Love,” Davido and Omah Lay’s “With You,” and Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love.”

Davido attended the event with his wife, Chioma Adeleke; his siblings, Sharon Adeleke and Adewale Adeleke; his manager, Asa Asika; cousin Tunji Adeleke; and other associates, hoping for a memorable win.

After the event, he shared reflections on Instagram, posting photos with his family and mentioning that he nearly decided not to attend. He recounted a conversation with Chioma, where he expressed his disappointment and she encouraged him to remain positive. He concluded his post with the phrase, “We outside.”

The post received significant attention, including a response from the Recording Academy on their official Instagram page, where they commended Davido’s composure, stating, “True showmanship.”

This response has generated discussions online, with fans recognizing Davido’s maturity, Chioma’s encouragement, and the respect shown by the Grammys for the artist’s graciousness in defeat.
