G Herbo Has Disclosed That He Earned Half A Million Dollars Following His Collaboration With Nicki Minaj On The Song “Chi-Raq”

G Herbo earned a significant amount after collaborating with Nicki Minaj on the track “Chi-Raq.” On October 8, during the “Club Shay Shay” podcast on Wednesday, the Chicago rapper disclosed that he likely earned half a million dollars from their 2014 collaboration.

Herbo initially declined the offer, as he believed it was a hoax. The person on the phone wasn’t her. He told Shannon Sharpe that it was Safaree and the others on the phone. “The musician remembered the incident as taking place around four in the morning, having been in the studio while under the influence of lean and pills.”

The “Went Legit” artist responded, saying, “Hell no, that’s not any f**king Nicki.” At the time, he was just beginning to gain popularity, so people were constantly “calling and playing on the phone all the time.” Minaj’s team subsequently contacted him a few days later, proposing to fly him to Los Angeles.

Herbo then spent the day with Minaj, who had set up a studio with two booths, a setup he had never encountered before. “That just really inspired me, it’s a lot of money.” You’ve got to go get that stuff,” he said. “After I released that song, I probably earned half a million dollars just from grinding.” I’m going to perform in shows, I’m currently working on several projects. I was ridiculously young.

Herbo then clarified that he was “no older than 18,” which made it a really huge achievement for him: “I credit it entirely to her.” Interestingly enough, the Chicago-based rapper was known as Lil Herb at one time. He previously reflected on working with Minaj on “Just Bars”: “All the women want to kiss me / Because I just left the Summer Jam with Nicki / And she just helped me book a couple of shows.”

Minaj initially released “Chi-Raq” on her SoundCloud account, before it was eventually made available on streaming services in 2021, concurrently with Beam Me Up Scotty. Give it a listen below.
