Fred again.., Skepta, PlaqueBoyMax, & Denzel Curry – Victory Lap Two

Fred again.., Skepta, and PlaqueBoyMax collaborated on the track “Victory Lap” in June. The track, which includes a notable sample of Doechii and Rico Nasty’s “Swamp B***hes,” was a largely unforeseen collaboration, despite the likelihood of Fred and Skepta working together.

The original “Victory Lap” was first created during a Twitch stream featuring Fred again.., Skepta, and PlaqueBoyMax. The game was officially released during Fred’s stream on June 17, and it was also live-streamed at a pop-up show in Brooklyn later that evening. The track features a high-energy vibe and marks a slight departure from Skepta’s typical sonic style.

They have collaborated with Denzel Curry on the remix, entitled “Victory Lap Two.” The track maintains the same energetic vibe as its predecessor. Curry demonstrates why he’s one of the most versatile rappers in the game currently.

Skepta’s verse remains unchanged from the original, however he failed to return and deliver a new set of lines. Denzel Curry bursts onto the track’s latter half, showcasing his typical sense of urgency that is a hallmark of his musical style on every song. Steph Curry rarely appears in a track where he seems like he’s coasting, and he’s not coasting here. His rap style is intense and the lyrics mainly focus on him boasting about his haters, his abilities, and his timepiece.

Thanks to his Twitch streams, PlaqueBoyMax has demonstrated that there are some skilled streamers in the hip-hop genre. Despite being a rapper, Max’s greatest asset is his work as a producer, particularly evident in both versions of this track. It’s likely that he and Fred will collaborate again soon, given that they have already achieved good outcomes on two separate occasions.
