Saweetie’s debut album, titled Pretty B**ch Music, might be her final release for the foreseeable future. According to reports, after the highly anticipated release, the artist behind the popular song “My Type” intends to transition into a full-time acting career.

During an interview with InStyle on Wednesday, February 5, Saweetie revealed that obtaining a role in a Netflix project is one of her goals for 2025. “After releasing this album, I envision myself fully transitioning into an acting career,” she stated to the publication. I submitted my audition tapes prior to the start of the new year, so I’m eagerly anticipating a response from them.

The musician kept the majority of the details private due to obvious reasons, but hinted that she would be playing the main character. I’m extremely enthusiastic about this opportunity. As noted by InStyle, the project is classified as semi-music-related, and the audition was submitted in December 2024.

The “ICY GIRL” artist has appeared in a number of television productions, including “Grown-ish,” where she portrayed Indigo, “BMF,” in which she played Keeya, and “Bel-Air.” Saweetie made a guest appearance in the animated series “Velma”, which is a spinoff of Scooby-Doo, playing herself.

Saweetie referred to her debut album as an uplifting experience and noted that it had a broader international appeal. A native of the Bay Area, despite not being included on the LP, treated enthusiasts to a collection of unreleased tracks in 2024, consisting of “Richtivities,” “NANi,” “My Best,” “Is It The Way,” and two holiday-themed releases.

Saweetie stated that her upcoming album will correct some misconceptions about her and represent her authentic, current self as a magical woman, a theme she has been hinting at for several years.

She went on to clarify that Saweetie is indeed a human being. She loses her composure. She becomes inoperable. I experience a wide range of emotions. I’m now at the point where I can provide a comprehensive contribution to the project. An unpleasant woman also experiences emotions. A bad b**ch got feelings too.”
