FLO & KAYTRANADA – The Mood

FLO KAYTRANADA The Mood

FLO, a popular girl group, has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, solidifying their position as prominent figures in the modern R&B musical scene. They demonstrated their dynamic vocal chemistry in their new single “The Mood,” a house fusion track featuring KAYTRANADA, by successfully blending funky and deep elements.

The trio from “Caught Up” sings about not yet being ready to move forward with someone they’re interested in on a night out, despite having a fantastic time and being swept up in the atmosphere. From the backdrop of the boards, the Haitian-Canadian producer ensures to emulate that feeling with dense and dark bass, addictive hi-hats and snaps, and cycling synthesizer keys throughout. Additional synthesizers and tones also fill the atmosphere, but none as effectively as the London duo achieves with their vocal performances and harmonies.

This new release was surrounded by controversy due to the animated visualizer, which it is claimed plagiarises another artist’s work. That’s an issue outside of the main focus, a completely different matter.

The trance in “The Mood” certainly puts you in a state of one. We’re eagerly anticipating the next move of “Losing You” artists, particularly if it involves the “#RICHAXXHAITIAN” music producer. FLO and KAYTRANADA still have many fun nights ahead of them, and a lot of music yet to come.

One of the most appealing aspects of “The Mood” is how subtly it fades in and out when you switch it on. The song is a self-contained groove that captures your attention and sticks with you even after it’s over.
