Slim Shady is headed to the Hall of Fame.

Eminem is among the inductees for the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it was announced today. The Detroit rapper joins the diverse class of 2022 including Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, and Carly Simon.

According to Rolling Stone, Eminem is the only hip-hop artist to be inducted as a Performer this year and the only artist that began releasing music in the ’90s.

Additionally, he is the only act to be inducted in his first year of eligibility, an achievement previously matched by Tupac Shakur, Public Enemy, Nirvana, and Guns N’ Roses.

“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll,” John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said in a statement. “Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”

Eminem is the latest rapper to be inducted into the Rock Hall following hip-hop icons JAY-Z and LL Cool J last year.

Other nominated acts that didn’t make this year’s induction include A Tribe Called Quest, Beck, Kate Bush, Fela Kuti, New York Dolls, and MC5.

The induction ceremony will take place on Nov. 5 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and air at a later date on HBO Max.
