Drake has been signaling that his upcoming solo album, Iceman, is forthcoming. On Saturday (Dec. 13), the rapper shared a video of himself playing hockey in the snow.

The clip, posted on Instagram, featured Drake shooting a puck across an outdoor ice rink adorned with October’s Very Own logos, provided by Sherwood. He captioned the post with “Ice for what,” which seemed to reference his 2018 song “Nice For What.”

In the comments, one user humorously suggested, “I’ve seen enough. Suit up, the [Toronto Maple] Leafs need you,” while another asked, “Bro, did you put a hockey rink in your backyard?!” Someone else referred to it as a “Canadian citizenship test.”

There were also numerous mentions of Wayne Gretzky, whom Drake referenced in February’s “NOKIA.”

On Friday (Dec. 12), Drake collaborated with 21 Savage on the surprise release of the latter’s fourth studio album, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STREETS?, in which he alluded to Iceman in the track “MR RECOUP.” In the lyrics, he stated, “Damn, Alex Moss, that’s a really big chain / Really, it’s no wonder why my neck is in pain / Damn, Iceman, your initials just changed / Mr. Recoup, that’s my other nickname.”

There is no specific release date for the album, although Drake mentioned to Complex last month that there will be at least one more livestream event before it is released. He teased that “the finale will be our best work.” Throughout the three livestreams held so far, fans have heard songs like “What Did I Miss?” featuring EVÎN, “Which One” with Central Cee, “SOMEBODY LOVES ME PT. 2,” and “DOG HOUSE” with Julia Wolf and Yeat.

In that same interview, the artist discussed the “biggest misconception” regarding the livestreams, stating that many assume they are easy to produce. He noted, “When you try to do something new or different, people can be overly critical before really understanding what it takes.”
