Drake is accompanying Young Thug regardless of the situation. During “The Pivot” podcast on Friday, September 26, the Atlanta rapper disclosed that his “Oh U Went” collaborator contacted him following the online emergence of leaked jail calls from his period of incarceration.

“The jail phones all that rubbish came out, Drake texted me, ‘Mate, I love you. Screw them, drop that music, bro.'” “Let your music speak,” Thugger recalled. A few other people also answered their phones, but not all of them did. “The small number of people who didn’t call have effectively revealed their true selves, which I’m relieved about.”

Not long before, a leaked phone call had been circulating in which Young Thug was heard criticizing Drake in relation to “Trance.” The track, produced by Metro Boomin, was originally intended for his own project, but it was reportedly sought after by Drake for inclusion in Honestly, Nevermind. However, the situation was compounded by Metro’s mother passing away in the month the LP was released.

Young Thug stated in the phone call, as reported by VIBE, “I don’t get how anyone could discuss music with him at this moment,” adding that Drake is “so stupid, he probably just sent some stupid condolences.”

Young Thug also acknowledged in his conversation with “The Pivot” that the leaked calls presented him in a manner he doesn’t typically portray. “Damn, I was really on the phone talking about people” No girl in my entire life can say that I engage in pillow talk with them, he shared. “That crap gets to me every day, I was extremely frustrated when I was on the phone.”

Young Thug has since attempted to make amends with the artists referenced in those conversations, including Mariah the Scientist, Future, and Lil Baby, through the song “Miss My Dogs.” The record appeared on his new album UY SCUTI, which also included contributions from those same individuals.
