Billionaire heiress and DJ Cuppy, born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, recently gained attention online due to her speech at King’s College London, her alma mater.

A video of the event has circulated widely, showcasing DJ Cuppy drawing inspiration from Afrobeats artist Davido, using his well-known mantra to motivate the new graduates.

Cuppy, who graduated from the School of Business and Economics at King’s College in 2014, returned in February 2026 to give the graduation commemorative speech. She reflected on her own experiences, addressing the students:

“Just 11 years ago, I was sitting in the same place as you, graduating from King’s Business School. They say pressure makes diamonds — and I agree — but I also strongly believe that pressure reveals your true self. Life will never make you feel fully ready, so kickstart the idea and pursue the dream. Action creates clarity. As Afrobeats superstar Davido always says, ‘We rise by lifting others.’”

Using Davido’s words as motivation, she encouraged the graduates to support their peers, colleagues, and communities, emphasizing the importance of giving back to those who are in similar positions to where they once were:

“Lift your classmates, lift your colleagues, lift your community, lift the people standing where you once stood, congratulations, thank you.”

After the event, she shared the moment online, stating:

“In 2014 I graduated from King’s College London. And now in 2026 I delivered the graduation commemoration speech. Full circle moment, I’m still pinching myself.”

DJ Cuppy’s academic achievements include a Master’s in Music Business from New York University in 2015 and a Master’s in African Studies from the University of Oxford in 2022, highlighting her dedication to merging music, business, and education.
