Nigerian music icon D’banj has unveiled an enthralling Amapiano track titled “Tobari.”

In this collaboration, D’banj teams up with South African virtuoso DJ Maphorisa and Nigeria’s dynamic DJ Obi to create what could be a new anthem.

“Tobari” is an energetic Amapiano song that merges Nigeria’s vibrant spirit with the captivating rhythms of South Africa’s Amapiano genre.

The track “Tobari” reinterprets elements from D’banj’s 2006 hit “Why Me,” adding a contemporary flair that connects the historical with the modern.

Its chorus is explosive, featuring the repeated chant “to ba ri, te ba ri, ki le fe wa so, ki le fe wa se,” crafted to ignite dance floors from Lagos to Johannesburg.

D’banj’s verse pays tribute to his Afrobeat roots while seamlessly integrating with the Amapiano beat, highlighting his lasting adaptability.

D’banj’s distinctive charm—his use of Yoruba proverbs and pidgin expressions flows effortlessly over DJ Maphorisa’s log-drum artistry and DJ Obi’s rhythmic prowess.

The production achieves an ideal harmony, combining powerful basslines with shimmering synths to create a sound that is both raw and radiant.

Produced by Maphorisa, the track “Tobari” acts as a sequel to his previous song “Compose,” which features Nasboi.
