Davido Sets The Record Straight About The Popular Warri “Slap” Video

Afrobeats star Davido has denied rumors that he was hit while attending a concert in Warri, Delta State.

A video shared by a news outlet on X showed him walking with his security team when someone seemed to hit the back of his head. The blogger wrote “Davido slapped in Warri” along with the video, leading to a lot of chatter online.

In response, Davido criticized the story, calling the blogger silly and mean for spreading lies. He explained that it wasn’t an attack at all; it was just one of his security team members who accidentally bumped into him in the crowd.

Fans had different reactions to what he said. Some felt relieved after his explanation, but others worried about how well his security team was doing. They cautioned that if a weapon had been involved, things could have been much more dangerous. A few fans also mentioned past issues with artists like 2Baba and P-Square in Warri, suggesting that Davido’s team should be more alert.

This is not the first time people have criticized Davido’s security. Just a few hours before the Warri video came out, another video showed him being hurried off stage after a brief struggle with a fan. A few months ago, a similar incident happened when a woman tried to get close to Davido in public, which made many people wonder about how effective his team really is.

Aside from the drama, Davido recently showed a softer side in an interview. The father of twins mentioned that money and fancy things aren’t what he cares about most. Instead, he treasures small gestures, like someone asking “How are you? ” which he feels really shows they care.
