Davido Nearly Abandoned His Music Career Before Teaming Up With Omah Lay On A Successful Track

Nigerian music star Davido has shared that he nearly stopped making music before he released his big hit With You featuring Omah Lay.

He talked about this in a recent interview that has become really popular online.

Davido explained that after being in the music business for over ten years, he was thinking about quitting because he didn’t know what to do next with his career. I was truly considering leaving, and then God gifted me this amazing song. It really brought new energy into my life,” Davido said.

The song With You featuring Omah Lay has become one of the top Afrobeats songs of 2025. Right now, it is the most played Nigerian song on Spotify this year. It has also received a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2025 AFRIMA Awards, topped the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart, and made it into the top five on the Billboard US Afrobeats chart.
