Nigerian music artist Davido has generated discussion online after posting a series of ambiguous messages on X (formerly Twitter), which appear to target his critics and competitors in the music industry.

These remarks have emerged during a period of scrutiny for fellow Afrobeats artist Burna Boy, who is facing criticism over an incident at a concert in the U.S.

Davido made multiple pointed statements, including, “Dey fool yourself … my head go soon catch you … everybody go collect from my God.” He also shared an older post from 2024 that stated, “Anybody wey do me bad go collect this year one by one just Dey watch … e don start already.”

In another message, he remarked, “Evil human beings … You will learn,” leading to increased speculation about the intended recipients of his comments.

His posts appeared shortly after Burna Boy received backlash for confronting a female fan during a performance in the United States. A viral video showed Burna Boy pausing mid-show to address the fan, who seemed to be sleeping in the front row. The woman was subsequently escorted out of the venue by her companion.

This incident prompted widespread criticism and revived discussions regarding Burna Boy’s behavior toward fans, particularly following the resurfacing of an older clip in which he mentioned preferring “rich fans” and stated he does not solicit support from anyone.

Davido has not confirmed whether his posts are related to the current controversy, but the timing has amplified speculation across social media.
