David Adeleke, known as Davido, has announced his decision to withdraw the custody case involving his daughter, Imade Adeleke, and her mother, Sophia Momodu.

In a series of posts on social media late Friday, the Afrobeats artist clarified that his intention was never to seek full custody, but rather to pursue joint custody of his daughter.

Davido remarked that the legal conflict did not lead to a clear winner, and he noted the negative impact it had on Imade, suggesting that any celebration of the situation was inappropriate.

He stated that he chose to drop the case after being deeply disturbed by what he described as an offensive mention of his deceased son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, during court proceedings, which he labeled as “an unacceptable low blow.”

In a follow-up post, Davido also criticized Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, the lawyer for Sophia Momodu, accusing her of unprofessional behavior for making insensitive comments about his late son in court.

The custody case garnered public attention after lawyer Maruf Mohammed reported that Davido appeared in court in Yaba, Lagos, on Thursday, showing visible anger during cross-examination and creating tension in the courtroom.
