Dave East & Ransom – THE MOSQUE

Dave East Ransom THE MOSQUE

Dave East and Ransom exhibit numerous similarities upon closer examination. Both artists possess a strong lyrical prowess, demonstrating their abilities as exceptional storytellers and adept creators of intricate rhyme schemes when necessary. Their shared East Coast roots, specifically from New York, further contribute to their common sonic foundation. Additionally, both Dave East and Ransom have garnered recognition as two of the most reliable figures within the underground music scene. They also excel in collaborative efforts, frequently engaging with various producers and fellow rappers throughout the years.

In recent years, each artist has collaborated multiple times annually with different producers and rappers. Therefore, the announcement of their inaugural joint project, The Final Call, last Friday, generated considerable anticipation. They initiated this collaboration with the track “MAYHEM,” characterized by its ominous tone, haunting string arrangements, ethereal background vocals, and vivid street narratives. Their second teaser, “THE MOSQUE,” continues this lyrical intensity, albeit with a slightly jazzier and more soulful instrumental backdrop. In this track, Dave and Ransom express their prayers for those they pursue while simultaneously honoring the memories of those they have lost. The Final Call is set to be released on February 21.
