Rappers Dave East and Ransom are collaborating on a joint album, which will be released in the New York tri-state area. “The Final Call” is scheduled for February 21. Prior to the album’s release, the duo made the lead single available. The track “Mayhem” is a collaboration with 22Gz, another artist hailing from New York City. The track features a powerful performance from all three rappers, delivering highly motivated lyrics throughout. The track, produced by V Don, incorporates the same sample as Jadakiss and Styles P’s iconic New York anthem “We Gonna Make It.” The alchemist’s involvement in the production resulted in a more energetic track that remains a popular choice for parties even to this day. Don’s vision crafts a darker-sounding track using the sample.
Ransom and Dave East contribute complex verses, with Ransom’s verse featuring numerous lyrics about city life and references to Diddy and Donald Trump. Rapper Dave East, who has been independent throughout his career, advises other artists to steer clear of major record labels, labelling them as “plantations.” His collaborator 22Gz delivers a heartfelt verse, seemingly inspired by the shift from his usual drill style to the soundscapes reminiscent of Griselda, created by V Don.
