Daniel Caesar – Call On Me

Daniel Caesar Call On Me

Daniel Caesar comes across as desperate once again on a recent release. The singer-songwriter and producer returns with “Call On Me,” the second single from their upcoming album, Son Of Spergy. On the track, he’s extending his generosity to a woman who shows little enthusiasm for him.

However, he has what she desires, and that’s financial resources. Most people would probably tell him to end this situationship, but he insists to the audience that he’s more than comfortable with it.

He’s burning through his money, saying he has no need for it.

The song “Have A Baby (With Me)” conveys a comparable message. That song was emotionally intense and devastating. “You hold my hand, but in your head, you’ve already left / You free yourself of patience.” Caesar was expressing his vulnerability and anxiety that he might not find another person as remarkable as the woman he was clinging to at the time, and this fear was heightened by his worry about losing her.

“Call On Me,” boasting a grittier atmosphere due to its alternative rock influences, showcases Caesar’s desire to be relied upon, even if this is just a means of dealing with his isolation. The contrasting atmospheres of this kind have us looking forward to Son Of Spergy, which is set to arrive this fall.
