She stated that in her years of experience, she has composed a significant amount of music which she has largely kept to herself due to the substantial changes the industry has undergone since she began her career.

This song holds significant meaning, particularly given that both artists are part of the LGBTQ+ community and sought to commemorate Pride Month in a substantial manner. It was roughly four years ago that Da Brat made her debut, following a 25-year wait.
