Well, that was quick. On Thursday, September 18, Kid Cudi let everyone know that he sent a legal warning to Consequence after the rapper suggested that Cudi was the reason why Kanye West’s collaboration with Drake did not happen, and that Cudi led to Kanye needing mental health care.

“The other day, Consequence made some false claims about me,” Cudi shared on his Instagram Stories. “We sent a legal letter telling him to take it down and say he’s sorry. ” He mentioned that the rapper removed his post two days later but “still hasn’t apologized. ”

“What he said was really upsetting. Let me make this clear: I had nothing to do with Kanye not working with Drake on that album, and I definitely had nothing to do with him ending up in the hospital,” he went on. “You’re spreading lies. ” Cudi also said that he’s never been into taking pills, pushing back against Consequence’s claim that he encouraged Kanye to “take pills and go off on stage. ”

In the same post, Cudi gave Consequence a serious warning. “Before this post disappears from my feed, you need to take back what you said because it’s completely false, or my lawyer will be in touch,” he stated. “I’m going to make you pay. That little bit of money you have is going to be mine. ”

The artist from Cleveland also made it clear that his collaborator KIDS SEE GHOSTS has always done things his own way. “This is Kanye we’re talking about,” he noted.

A few hours later, Consequence shared Cudi’s Story again and joked about starting an “apology” tour on X. “This will be as good as it gets,” he wrote, clearly referring to the G. O. O. D. Music label they both belonged to at one time. He ended his post with, “The proof doesn’t lie, and neither do I.”
