Coco Jones & Leon Thomas – Here We Go (Uh Oh) (Remix)

Coco Jones Here We Go Uh Oh

This weekend, a reunion is planned between two former child television personalities – Coco Jones and Leon Thomas. She left her mark on Disney Channel with her role in the original film Let It Shine. He gained recognition as a result of his work as Andre Harris on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. Interestingly, both projects featured prominent musical components, and now they are thriving in the R&B/soul genre. Every artist has a fair number of successful hits and notable projects already under their belt. Coco is planning to solidify her position later this year with the release of her debut album.

The rollout began in mid-2024 with “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” which has a sophisticated 1960s aesthetic. Alternatively, in her own words as quoted by Rated R&B, “I believe the music led to the song concept because I feel that with the sample, it evokes this sense of an orchestra and an air of mystery.” This mission feels like something straight out of an 007 movie. The sample in question is Lenny Williams’ “‘Cause I Love You.” The infuriating yet captivating cut is a strong contender for two prestigious awards at this year’s GRAMMYs, and it is richly deserving of the recognition. Including Thomas on this remix is a fantastic decision, as her involvement enhances the collaboration due to the dynamic she brought to the original track. Thomas plays the role of the persistent ex-boyfriend who his character can’t seem to shake off, and he carries it out convincingly, particularly when their scenes are intertwined towards the end of the story.
