Chance the Rapper & BabyChiefDoIt – Drapetomania

Following a series of experiences in both his music and personal life, Chance the Rapper is now back with a fresh vision and renewed energy. Last Friday (August 15), the independent luminary released his second official album STAR LINE, and fans have been giving it a lot of love, even going so far as to describe it as a successful comeback.

It’s easy to understand why the hype is so high, particularly following the lacklustre debut that was The Big Day. This is genuinely a solid album from the Chicago native, and it’s full of standout tracks. One song we’ve been having fun with is “Drapetomania.”

One of Chance’s most energetic performances on the record is featured alongside BabyChiefDoIt, who was inducted as a freshman in 2025. The teenager has created a significant amount of excitement as one of the most aggressive spitters from Chicago.

Getting this look for him is a significant win. He makes the most of the chance, delivering his verse as if the rent is overdue. “Release all the opportunities and release all the individuals, it’s utterly disregard all law enforcement and eliminate all unwanted entities / Young man, my gun fires repeatedly, that obese person is, that person will collapse on their back / We’ll transform someone into a baseball cap.”
