Cardi B previously stated that BIA’s hit song, ‘WHOLE LOTTA MONEY,’ was ghostwritten and initially presented to her. Contrary to the artist’s own statement, that is not entirely accurate.

BIA shared in her conversation with Billboard on Monday (Oct. 20) that the track’s current form wouldn’t exist without her taking ownership of the writing process. She clarified that the reference being made is to the part, ‘It’s a whole lot of money,’ and possibly a verse.

BIA further elaborated that she penned the first verse, also contributing the lyric “I put on my jewelry just to go to the bodega” in the hook. “There wouldn’t be a ‘whole lotta money’ if there wasn’t the attitude of ‘I only wear my jewelry to go to the bodega.'” There’s facts to back her claim, and a whole lot of money would be at stake if she hadn’t written ‘I can’t wear the same cheap stuff you women wear.’

Despite claiming Pardison Fontaine assisted with writing Cardi’s “Pretty & Petty” diss track, BIA clarified that she has no issue with artists collaborating with songwriters. She stated that everyone utilizes writers. The point I’m making is about a co-author.

I haven’t written a song on my album without working on its lyrics. Even if I manage to get a complete song, I will still put my own twist on it. BIA then stated she would remix it. “I’m going to do something to make it my own, because I possess that talent and lyrical ability.” Collaborating with other writers poses no issues.

While BIA decided against releasing a response track to “Pretty & Petty” on BIANCA, citing that it would detract from her album, she did suggest that one could be released at any moment. She, the self-proclaimed Perico Princess, suggested it could possibly be “six months from now, two weeks from now [or] a year from now”.

Cardi posted an Instagram video set to “AM I THE DRAMA?” on Sunday, October 19. Below is something to take a look at.
