Following her acquittal in a civil assault trial involving a security guard, Cardi B says she needs every advantage she can get – sort of. On Wednesday (Sept. 3), the rapper humorously encouraged fans to purchase the courtroom edition of her upcoming album, AM I THE DRAMA?, so she could cover her lawyer fees.

The “Up” artist pulled three exclusive CD variants out of her shorts in a TikTok video, which were available for pre-order “due to popular demand”. Close-up shots of Cardi’s face in court were featured on each cover, including her blonde wig, which led an attorney to question if it was her actual hair. She decided not to wear her initial day’s hairstyle as the wig was in disarray.

Just as I had secured the verdict, guess what? Cardi joked in the video, “I still have to pay these lawyers.” She then urged fans to donate $9.99 for each courtroom-edition CD, before playfully mocking her own lifestyle. I am a single mother with three children. The Grammy Award-winning artist stated, “I swear to God if I don’t sell these albums, I’ll have to give up my Rolls-Royce, give up my Lamborghini.” How am I supposed to survive? How am I going to get my kids to school?

At the end of the clip, Cardi exited the street and shouted to passing cars, “Purchase my CD.” Watch it below.

The Invasion of Privacy artist also poked fun at being short on finances in August. The rapper humorously stated that she was strapped for cash shortly after unveiling the “pretty and petty” alternate cover for AM I THE DRAMA?, during an X Spaces session. “I’m totally struggling in the game at the moment,” she said to her fans back then.

She said she hadn’t even been able to get her pool cleaned that week, you know what I mean. “If you’d like to donate to the AM I THE DRAMA? charity foundation and so on, it would be great, which would enable me to get my nails done.”

Cardi B’s courtroom edition of her upcoming album will only be accessible until 5 September, she stated. Following the release of that, AM I THE DRAMA? is scheduled to drop on September 19, which will include previously released singles “Outside” and “Imaginary Playerz.”
