Cardi B, Leon Thomas, And Doechii, Among Others, Respond To Their 2026 Grammy Award Nominations

Receiving a Grammy nomination is one of the highest accolades an artist can achieve, second only to winning one at the awards ceremony. The Recording Academy revealed the entire list of nominees on Friday, November 7, with many artists rapidly posting on social media to express their enthusiasm.

Not everyone received the recognition fans were expecting. Playboi Carti and The Weeknd were seemingly excluded, as was Mariah the Scientist’s “Burning Blue.” Despite everything, it’s still a great moment for those who managed to succeed. Kendrick Lamar received the most nominations with nine, with Leon Thomas coming out on top as the most-nominated R&B act, having obtained six nominations, following the success of MUTT.

Here’s a look at how artists like Doechii, Clipse, Kehlani, and more reacted to their 2026 Grammy nominations.

It was not unexpected that Kehlani’s “Folded” earned nominations for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance. The single secured their first-ever position on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 and drew the attention of icons such as Brandy, Toni Braxton, and Ne-Yo, who contributed to multiple remixes. The Oakland singer expressed gratitude to the Recording Academy, attributing her thanks to God’s blessing.

4. Doechii

The Swamp Princess has received five Grammy nominations after a song she initially recorded in her bedroom gained recognition. In response to “Anxiety” being nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, and other categories, Doechii offered words of encouragement to fellow artists. She declared, “This is your cue to stop working on the song.” Upload the video. Complete the painting.
