The past few days have been an eventful time for Cardi B. The “I Like It” rapper responded to a leaked phone call in which she allegedly threatened to attack Ice Spice after previously celebrating her sophomore album going No. 1 and engaging in a verbal exchange with Nicki Minaj.

Cardi issued a public apology to Latto on Tuesday, September 30, after Latto got involved in a conversation with Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr. “I was extremely angry at the moment, but I have a lot of respect for Latto.” The soon-to-be mother of four expressed her admiration for everything about her, including her team, which she described as very pleasant.

Absolutely not. I’m not too proud to apologize to someone I genuinely respect, so this is my public apology, and now I’ll privately purchase a gift for her. Cardi and Latto collaborated on “ErrTime (Remix)” last Tuesday, which caught some fans off guard on September 23.

Judging by Rosemond Jr.’s reference to the Empire State Building, where Ice Spice celebrated the release of Y2K! in July 2024, the call appears to have originated nearly a year ago.

Cardi B called out Rosemond Jr. in a separate tweet, citing the start of their conversation as surfacing online conveniently. “She said, ‘But wait, James… I just know you didn’t only record the beginning of that conversation.'”

Go ahead and share the entire 11-minute conversation where Ice Spice expressed her emotions because I thought Sexyy [Red] deserved a BET Award, and she had just received an iHeart award, which I wasn’t even considering. Her post went on, “You came to bang, right?”

Cardi B had threatened to physically harm both Ice Spice and her regular collaborator, RIOTUSA. She informed Rosemond Jr. that she wasn’t like Latto or Minaj, before yelling at him to put the ‘Deli’ hitmaker on the phone.

Ice Spice seemingly reacted to the leak by pre-emptively releasing a track provisionally titled “Pretty Privilege.” In the snippet, she spat, “She might post insults online, but she won’t say them to my face / … / She’s a poser, she hears my song and copies everything I say.”
