Cam’ron States That The Verzuz Battle Between Dipset And The LOX Was Not The Right Choice

Cam’ron has demonstrated a level of self-awareness regarding his past decisions. The Harlem rapper recently acknowledged that taking part in the Verzuz battle between Dipset and the LOX was not a wise choice.

On August 3, 2021, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and Juelz Santana faced off against Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event captivated fans as the two groups showcased their biggest hits while engaging with each other on stage, sometimes with tension. Ultimately, the LOX were recognized as the winners.

In a recent episode of Cam’s “It Is What It Is” podcast, he mentioned that he participated in the battle to support his team, even though he viewed it as an “unpopular decision.” He reflected, “I can name a lot of decisions that weren’t good because I was trying to be a team player. I should’ve never done the Verzuz; I told people not to do it,” he shared with a laugh.

He continued, “It was the wrong decision that I made. No more of that… I’ve tried to be a team player a lot of times, but that’s the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned ‘wrong decisions.'”

Verzuz was launched by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland during the pandemic as a means to entertain fans in quarantine. It has since seen a resurgence with recent matchups, including a battle between Cash Money and No Limit at ComplexCon. However, this event did not match the excitement of the LOX versus Dipset battle, where both groups boasted extensive musical catalogs, making the outcome a subject of debate beforehand. In the end, the LOX were better prepared with responses to every move made by the Diplomats.

Despite this experience, Cam continues to succeed with his podcasts, including “Talk With Flee” on the REVOLT Podcast Network, as well as his Horsepower Energy drink and other creative projects. The possibility of releasing new music or a verse remains open.
