Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has dismissed recent claims of harassment made against him, labelling them as untrue, upsetting, and part of a larger effort to damage his reputation.

The rapper directly confronted the controversy in a statement posted to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, October 27, 2025, describing the accusations as a “deliberate fabrication” allegedly orchestrated by individuals within the music industry.

Blaqbonez claims he has faced a “sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation” for several months. He had previously decided to remain quiet, despite facing “repeated bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks” over the past year, on the assumption that “the truth would speak for itself.”

Blaqbonez attributed the allegations to a past personal relationship, which he claimed ended amicably but has since been distorted and transformed into a professional rivalry. A private dispute between two grown individuals has been manipulated into a larger controversy within the industry, he claimed, alleging that his competitors are exploiting the situation to publicly tarnish his reputation.

He also maintained that the accusations were ‘wholly fabricated to tarnish my reputation, my job, and everything I’ve established,’ expressing frustration that certain individuals ‘opt to exploit falsehoods for notoriety and retribution.’

The rapper confirmed he is fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure facts become public, stating he has ‘nothing to hide.’ He also stated that legal action is being taken to address what he termed as continuous harassment and defamation.

Blaqbonez concluded his statement by urging for increased tolerance and understanding, highlighting that “false accusations can ruin genuine lives” and that “harassment, whether physical, digital, or psychological, should never be accepted.”

He expressed gratitude to fans and supporters for their unwavering support during the controversy, stating that his priority is still his music, finding inner peace, and ultimately clearing his name.
