BigXthaPlug’s mother is frequently moved to tears by his work with Lil Wayne on Tha Carter VI. On Thursday (September 10), the “Hell At Night” rapper had a conversation with will.i.am for UPROXX’s “VISIONARIES,” during which he recounted his mother’s response to his collaboration with one of the greatest rappers to ever perform on a mic.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman asked him, “What does your mama think of you having the best song on Lil Wayne’s album?” “My momma probably cries twice a day, if we are being honest,” BigXthaPlug responded. A native of Dallas held one of the stronger spots on Lil Wayne’s 19-track album with “Hip-Hop,” which also included Jay Jones. The conversation has not been specified.

During his conversation with will.i.am, BigXthaPlug explained just how much of a “rap guru” his mother is. Growing up in Houston, my mom was a big fan of UGK, he explained. Everything from Lil Wayne and that sort of thing.

In stark contrast, his father couldn’t have been more dissimilar. The artist stated that he benefited from having his dad’s musical tastes, which encompassed both The Isley Brothers and Avant, citing that his father was incarcerated until he was approximately 9 years old.

BigXthaPlug, similar to many rappers, holds a great deal of respect for his mother, particularly given all she has gone through. My mother was in housing approximately four years ago. She remained living in the projects. “He now has his grandmother, sister, and daughter staying with him,” he revealed, adding that they do as well. Everyone in my family received an allowance. They receive a lump sum each month, without needing to ask anyone else for it. For him, his family is a primary motivator that drives him to work diligently.

In August, the Texas-based artist behind this hit music released I Hope You’re Happy, which featured previous hits such as “All The Way” with Bailey Zimmerman and the Shaboozey-assisted track “Home.”

Lil Wayne is currently touring the country as part of his “Tha Carter VI Tour.” The trek will pause in Dallas on next Wednesday (Sept. 17), potentially allowing fans to catch a surprise live performance of “Hip-Hop” by BigXthaPlug.
