Upon the arrival of BIA’s debut album, BIANCA, last Friday (Oct. 10), many fans were left questioning why a response to Cardi B’s “Pretty & Petty” was omitted. It appears that she had her reasons.

On Monday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club” (Oct. 13), BIA stated that responding to Cardi would have been a disservice to all the energy and care she invested into the 16-track project. “She’s making it about her,” she told Charlamagne Tha God. “I’m not saying I don’t have a response, but that was a year ago from where I am currently.”

I’m not sure what my next steps will be. She kept asking whether she should keep arguing with Pardison Fontaine repeatedly. Notably, BIA had previously claimed that the rapper and songwriter credited on much of AM I THE DRAMA? assisted Cardi in writing “Pretty & Petty.” The Massachusetts native also made it clear she could release a response track “at any time,” whether that’s “six months from now, two weeks from now, [or] a year from now.”

According to BIA, she would be doing a disservice to herself by releasing this album after putting in so much effort if it were to be about her. My message and purpose here carry far greater significance than just a rap rivalry. The full interview is available below.

The “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY” artist appeared to throw insults at Cardi B on Dreezy’s “B**ch Duh (Remix),” prompting the Grammy-winning rapper to respond on GloRilla’s “Wanna Be (Remix).” The exchange escalated, spilling onto social media before BIA released her own more direct diss track, “SUE MEEE?”

Their feud had significantly subsided until Cardi released ‘AM I THE DRAMA?’ in September. On her song “Pretty & Petty,” the soon-to-be mom of four fired back at BIA, accusing her of a two-year-old claim that she “put a number on the board.”

In an interview with Nessa Diab on HOT97, BIA stated that the diss didn’t intimidate her. “It’s all just a part of the game,” she pointed out. “It doesn’t really evoke any kind of emotion in me other than the realisation that it’s not true.”
