Asap Rocky believes quality music requires a considerable amount of time to develop. He’s currently in a relationship with Rihanna, who has yet to release a follow-up to ANTI. The Harlem-based rapper, in a GQ interview conducted on February 28, positioned himself, his children’s mother, and Frank Ocean alongside “those who invest considerable time in creating enduring artistic works.”

Rocky was, of course, referring to his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, which has been in development limbo for approximately four years. The reality is that fans are left in a state of desperation. He doesn’t believe that any artist, including numerous ones like Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, and Rihanna, can create music that resonates with everyone.

The “Fashion Killa” rapper also stated they don’t believe the group is producing music primarily to remain culturally current, to remain in touch with current trends, or to engage in a display of one-upmanship. “I believe that those individuals specifically have a fan base that is realistically struggling for support.” The reality is that they require sustenance.

Production of Don’t Be Dumb has been delayed on multiple occasions, primarily due to Rocky’s high-profile trial resulting from two gun assault charges. He appears to be willing to finally let it go: “I’m fed up with constantly saying the plate is almost ready.” “It’s a scorching temperature, folks!”

What is the release date for ASAP Rocky’s song ‘Don’t Be Dumb’?

The “Fashion Killa” rapper decided not to provide an exact release date, possibly to prevent further disappointment for fans if the project doesn’t meet expectations. Although he has a Rolling Loud California performance scheduled for mid-March, it’s possible we could obtain another pre-release single similar to “HIGHJACK” or “Ruby Rosary.”

Co-founder Tariq Cherif of Rolling Loud suggested the album was due to release “before the festival,” but it now appears increasingly unlikely given the time constraint. Perhaps that is uncertain. We may receive Rocky’s album by the end of the first quarter, followed by hopefully Rihanna and Frank Ocean at some point in the near future.
