The Queen is back.
Ahead of her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Mary J. Blige returns with her 15th studio album Good Morning Gorgeous.
On her first album in nearly five years, the R&B icon links up with some of her favorite artists. The 13-song set includes appearances from Anderson .Paak, Fivio Foreign, Dave East, DJ Khaled, and Usher, who duets with MJB on the closer “Need Love.”
“If you affect me in some kind of way, or make me love you as an artist, then you can work with me,” the 51-year-old singer told Big Tigger on “Audacy Check In.” “All these guys are amazing. They’re a lot of fun, and they’re my friends now. We’re family.”
On Sunday, Mary will perform on the biggest stage, the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. “I’m excited. I’ve never been this nervous in a while,” she said. “This is about to be the party of the century. The world is going to be there, it’s going to be crazy.”
And Mary is already thinking about her next project. “Maybe a jazz album. Something with Robert Glasper. Maybe a gospel album. I don’t know. Something positive, though.”
