The Nigerian singer FOLA has released his highly anticipated debut album, “catharsis.”

The project “catharsis” presents a deeply moving journey through the realms of emotion, identity, and recovery, characterised by a sonically refined aesthetic.

The term “catharsis” is defined as the process of releasing, and subsequently offering relief from, intense or suppressed emotions.

FOLA’s album is laid out like a well-written diary, with each song serving as a chapter of openness, resilience, and artistic progression.

The 11-track project “catharsis” includes guest collaborations with Kizz Daniel, Young Jonn, Victony, and Gabzy.

During a recent interview about the album, FOLA stated:

Creating this album is akin to establishing a soul sanctuary, where one searches for a remedy to purify and heal the soul. I’d like people to listen to these songs and release their anxieties. I’d like listeners to take further action after hearing these songs.

Prior to the release of the album “catharsis,” FOLA launched the singles “eko,” “you,” and “lost,” the latter of which includes Kizz Daniel.
