Album: DJ Jaivane – Onkgopotse

DJ Jaivane’s latest project, led by Onkgopotse, delves deeply into the soulful realm of Private School Amapiano, reinforcing his status as a guardian of emotive, intricately crafted piano music. The title, Onkgopotse, which translates to “You Have Chosen Me” in Setswana, embodies spiritual undertones that are also reflected in the music, striking a balance between gratitude, vulnerability, and a sense of purpose.

DJ Jaivane and The Bless have recently made a guest appearance on Soze, alongside Russell Zuma, Basaya, and Sipho Magudulela.

In keeping with Jaivane’s signature style, the album is constructed around low-key rhythms, sorrowful chord patterns, and rich, jazz-influenced timbres, showcasing a diverse group of vocalists and producers including Smaki 08, Bittersoul, and ATK MusiQ.
