Album: BNXN – CAPTAIN

Nigerian singer Bnxn has launched his second studio album, “CAPTAIN,” through T.Y.E. and EMPIRE.

“CAPTAIN” is a 16-track work that demonstrates Bnxn’s musical diversity, artistic development, and dominant stature in the music field.

During a recent interview on the Grammys about his “CAPTAIN” album, Bnxn shared his insights, saying:

My friends used to refer to me as “Captain” to distinguish me and signify my position of leadership to some extent.

I noticed a more profound interpretation of it, particularly in relation to my music. I see myself as a pirate and the captain of a ship, particularly while working on this album, which I was inspired by watching Pirates of the Caribbean for the entire summer.

I see myself as a significant figure in the ocean of the industry, both globally and specifically in Nigeria. Achieving a level such as this one requires a certain level of skill.

I’m thrilled to share this particular project. It feels extremely personal. I had reservations about releasing a single, primarily because the album was already quite unified. It felt as though removing a block from a building.

Bnxn masterfully interweaves genres in “CAPTAIN”, blending Afro-Fusion, Afrobeats, R&B, and pop to showcase his versatility.

Bnxn’s album, “CAPTAIN,” includes guest performances by Rema, Seyi Vibez, Victony, FOLA, and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

The album preceded several of Bnxn’s earlier singles, such as “Very Soon”, “Cutesy”, “Phenomena”, and “Fi Kan We Kan”, which featured Rema.

Bnxn will promote his album through a North American music tour, which begins on August 22 in Boston, USA, and ends on September 19 in Edmonton, Canada.
