Armani White – THERES A GHOST IN MY HOUSE

Since bursting onto the scene with “BILLIE EILISH” a few years ago, Philadelphia rapper Armani White’s greatest strength has been his ability to process trauma while still producing chart-topping hits. On Friday, October 31, he released his new album, THERE’S A GHOST IN MY HOUSE.

“Initially, the notion of a ghost in my house was a play on the idea that there was an actual ghost present in my home,” White explained in a press release. Despite the eerie feeling, there’s no need to be afraid because this alleged ghost is essentially a manifestation of my own identity. I initially resisted the concept of metamorphosis. Ultimately, I acknowledged that change can be intimidating, but you shouldn’t let it frighten you.

Throughout the project, change is something White fully accepts and incorporates both in its songwriting and in the music production. Without delay, he establishes the tone on the introspective opening track “HOME”, where he acknowledges that he may be “better off alone”. Subsequently, on “BIGGER PERSON,” the rapper takes the high road accompanied by piano melodies.

Prior to the album’s release, White issued four singles: “TTSO”, “CUT THE LIGHTS”, “MOUNT PLEASANT”, and “GHOST”, which featured Samara Cyn, one of the project’s two guest musicians. White also joined T-Pain on the road for the “TP20 Tour” at the start of October.

“I want you to be completely aware of the kind of cereal I prefer, the cartoons I watch, and the type of bath soap I use by the end of this album.” White said that he wants a personal and unusual connection with you. “That’s my strategy for advancing the culture.”

We may not obtain every single one of those intimate details, but THERE’S A GHOST IN MY HOUSE is still one of White’s most personal and sonically adventurous records to date. “SAY IT TO ME” and “FLASHMOB” have the strongest impact, and “PHANTM” is the ideal finale, largely due to T-Pain’s contributions on the track’s ending.
