Adekunle Gold’s eagerly awaited new album, Fuji, is due to be released on Friday, 3 October 2025, and the excitement surrounding it is already sparking a significant celebration.

Plans for a special street carnival to mark the occasion have been announced by the Mainland Block Party, set to take place on Lagos Island just two days following the project’s release.

The Fuji Street Carnival will be held on Sunday, October 5, from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., bringing Adekunle Gold’s fans together for a cultural and musical experience described as being truly “out of this world.”

The event’s striking poster perfectly encapsulates this theme, featuring two astronauts in spacesuits playing traditional talking drums amidst surreal elements such as a rocket ship and a floating balloon figure. Adekunle Gold’s endeavour to reinvigorate Fuji music is reflected in the imagery, which sees him boldly combining the genre’s traditional elements with Afropop and international sounds.

The Mainland Block Party, known for its lively events, is relocating its headquarters from the mainland to historic Lagos Island for this particular occasion. The organisers claim that the carnival will showcase live performances, cultural exhibitions, and a vibrant street party ambiance centred around the singer’s latest collection of music.

Tickets can be purchased online now, and fans are being advised to buy them as soon as possible. The event has backing from Pepsi and other collaborating partners.

The anticipation surrounding Fuji is escalating, and the carnival is poised to solidify Adekunle Gold’s new album as one of the most widely discussed releases of the year.
