A$AP Rocky Regrets Setting A Release Date For ‘Don’t Be Dumb’, Tells Fans They’ll “Just Have To Wait”

A$AP Rocky is asking his fans to stop inquiring about the release date of Don’t Be Dumb. In an interview with Numéro on Monday (Oct. 13), the Harlem native acknowledged he was “a bit foolish” for having set a release date for the project.

Honestly, I’ve had enough of discussing release dates. A$AP Rocky said he’d prefer the music to speak for itself. One day, you’ll wake up and catch sight of what’s on the horizon. I was foolish to give dates on the previous occasion. The “Tailor Swiff” rapper had previously announced that “Don’t Be Dumb” would be released in August 2024, which he jokingly referred to as “Awgest,” along with pre-orders available in June.

I want to state my position clearly today. The rapper told Numéro that fans will simply have to wait and appreciate the record when it is released. It’s unclear whether he’s lowering expectations in case Don’t Be Dumb doesn’t release in 2025, or if it’ll be out sooner than anticipated. The LP has already encountered several obstacles, possibly linked to his gun assault case and focusing on his expanding family.

Previously reported by Rap-Up, pre-order customers of Don’t Be Dumb merch, featuring box sets, vinyl, and CDs, received refund emails in December 2024. The notice stated that the album had been postponed until early 2025. It was widely assumed that it would happen prior to March 15, primarily due to a hint from Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif.

According to Cherif, an insider informed them that A$AP Rocky will release a new album prior to the festival, as stated in a post announcing A$AP Rocky as a Rolling Loud California 2025 headliner.
