A$AP Rocky’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, promises to surprise his fans. On January 2, the Harlem rapper shared a teaser for the next single, indicating a more punk musical direction.

The teaser posted on Instagram features model and actor Brooks Ginnan alone on the street with an oxygen tube at his face. Despite the unsettling start, he is later seen dancing as the song begins. The title card for the visual suggests further excitement.

Winona Ryder, known for her roles in Beetlejuice and Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” is set to appear in the music video for the track titled “Punk Rocky.” The video is directed by Folkert Verdoorn, Simon Becks, and Rocky.

In his caption, Rocky enthusiastically referred to the project as the “VIDEO OF THE F**KIN YEAR!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR,” and announced that the track will be released on January 5. Fans reacted with enthusiasm in the comments, noting Ginnan’s previous appearances in several JPEGMAFIA videos and Edward Skeletrix’s “Congratulations.”

User comments expressed excitement about Ryder’s involvement, with one stating, “Starring Winona Ryder??? You snapped,” and another exclaiming, “Wait, WINONA RYDER???? Oh my Godddd.”

Last month, Rocky revealed that Don’t Be Dumb would consist of 15 songs, plus two bonus tracks. The pre-save announcement, along with the cover art, does not clarify whether earlier singles such as “pray4dagang” or “Ruby Rosary” featuring J. Cole will be included in the final album.

In the special-edition vinyl description, Bilt remarked that Don’t Be Dumb “moves through genres the way you’d move through a city,” suggesting that, in addition to its Hip Hop roots, the album will feature elements of jazz, metal, indie, and R&B.
