A$AP Rocky Clarifies Why He’s “Not So Eager To Just Drop” As Fans Anticipate ‘Don’t Be Dumb’

Don’t anticipate A$AP Rocky’s “Don’t Be Dumb” to materialize anytime soon. He says he’s “not so eager” to put out the album — or any project — purely to remain relevant.

“I’m not taking on these diverse projects just to be the first to reach the summit and claim victory,” A$AP Rocky said to Perfect Magazine on Wednesday (Oct. 29). The actual question is irrelevant to who came up with the idea first. It’s about who did it the most effectively. My actions are centered around establishing a lasting legacy. That’s why I’m not so keen on just letting go, letting go, letting go.

I’m not involved in something just to remain current or continue being mentioned. He went on to say that he strives to accomplish genuine, creative, and ambitious pursuits that bring him a sense of satisfaction. It appears to be true that A$AP Rocky has taken on multiple acting roles, become a father again, and successfully overcome an assault trial, amidst ongoing fan anticipation for Don’t Be Dumb.

The creator of TESTING later in the interview revealed that he experiences tunnel vision when immersed in a project. He stated that his sole focus at the time is working on a film. A father of three noted that he devotes the same “amount of attention, tender love and care” to everything, be it his upcoming long-playing record or another endeavour.

Only a few weeks earlier, A$AP Rocky had told Numéro that he was “a bit foolish” for ever having announced the original release date for Don’t Be Dumb, which many had expected to drop in 2024. For now, fans will have to wait and see what the future holds when the time arrives.

In the meantime, he has kept listeners supplied with a few released tracks. In July, he released “pray4dagang” with KayCyy, followed by two tracks from the Highest 2 Lowest soundtrack in August.
