Album: Kabza De Small – Bab’Motha

Kabza De Small’s 2025 album, “Bab’Motha”, is a deeply layered and emotionally expansive work, and one of his most versatile yet spiritually grounded projects to date. The title “Bab’Motha”, meaning “Father of the Movement”, serves as both a self-acknowledgment and a tribute to those who laid the groundwork before him.

Siyabonga, which recently featured Kabza De Small, also included Nontokozo Mkhize and Mthunzi.

Collaborators span from vocal powerhouses like Nkosazana Daughter, Young Stunna, Mawhoo, and Mthunzi, to producers such as Da Muziqal Chef, Kelvin Momo, and DJ Maphorisa. The sound design is cinematic, characterised by multi-layered instrumentation, unpredictable changes in progression, and a sense of rejuvenation.

Kabza elevates Amapiano to a level of pure artistry through Bab’Motha, solidifying his position as a high-order cultural composer, as well as a genre leader.
