Fat Joe Performs On ‘Tiny Desk’ And Collaborates With Jadakiss And Remy Ma

Fat Joe has achieved considerable success as a rap media personality, gaining significant visibility on social media. Some younger audiences may not fully understand his status as a Hip Hop legend, but he recently provided a reminder of his legacy.

On Thursday, November 5, the artist known for “What’s Luv?” performed at NPR’s “Tiny Desk,” showcasing some of his classic tracks alongside longtime collaborators Remy Ma and Dre. From the start of the 25-minute set, it was evident that the performance would be exceptional. He began with his song “Cocababy,” featuring Remy, and continued with his 2010 single “(Ha Ha) Slow Down.” The performance included live renditions of his verses from LL Cool J’s “I Shot Ya” and Ja Rule’s “New York,” the latter featuring his podcast co-host Jadakiss. Later in the set, Stove God Cooks joined to perform “The Aroma,” a track from Fat Joe’s latest album, Organized Rhyme.

As the set progressed, Fat Joe saved one of his most well-known songs for last. Toward the end, he performed “Lean Back,” which remains as popular now as it was 22 years ago. He maintained his distinctive style, while Remy showcased her fierce yet composed delivery. This moment highlighted their collaboration, further enhanced by their performance of “All The Way Up,” a single released in 2016.

The complete performance can be viewed below.

Fat Joe previously participated in a “Tiny Desk (Home)” performance at his UP NYC store in 2021. This latest performance marks his second appearance on the “Tiny Desk” stage, although it was technically the first time he headlined it in person. In June 2021, he participated in a “Home” edition from his sneaker boutique. This recent show follows the success of his podcast and his new album, and it underscores Fat Joe’s continued prominence in the industry.
