Druski Celebrates Netflix Deal After Years Of Rejection, Teases ‘Collect & Praise’

If you appreciate Druski’s comedic skits but desire longer content, there is notable news. On Monday, November 2, the comedian announced he has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, with the first project, “Collect & Praise,” set to debut on December 1.

This semi-scripted comedy series is based on his controversial virally popular megachurch pastor skit from January and will be the first adaptation of one of Druski’s skits into a long-form television format, as reported by Variety. Mike Epps will co-star as a deacon, and the two characters are expected to navigate through scandalous and chaotic situations, according to the logline.

Alongside the announcement, Druski shared a preview of what is coming to Netflix. The nearly three-minute clip shows him providing feedback on prosthetics used in his viral skits and visiting the set of his Joe parody, where he previously portrayed a member of the Jackson 5 family.

The preview also features appearances from Caleb Pressley and Bambi, the latter of whom many recognize from Druski’s “Coulda Been Love” series. At the conclusion, Druski walks through a hallway showcasing some of his most recognizable costumes before the teaser ends with a title card that displays the release date.

Regarding Druski’s multi-year partnership with Netflix, in addition to “Collect & Praise,” Netflix will also feature “Coulda Been Love,” “Coulda Been Daddy,” “Coulda Been Records Auditions,” and a collection of Druski’s comedic skits, which have collectively garnered over a billion views on YouTube. In a press statement, he expressed, “I’ve built my platform by creating characters and comedy that resonate with people. This partnership with Netflix will give me the resources to build on that comedy foundation and bring my work to a new global audience.”

Druski further remarked, “It’s a tremendous opportunity for our team at 4Lifers Entertainment to expand our reach, develop original programming for the masses, and take our creativity to new heights.”

John Derderian, Netflix’s head of Next Gen Content, commented, “Druski has a gift for building characters that people can’t stop talking about. We want the best talent in the world to bring us their most ambitious work, reach new audiences and build their brands. ‘Collect & Praise’ is just the beginning, and we welcome Druski to Netflix.”

Druski’s agreement with Netflix represents a significant development, particularly as he previously disclosed on Steven Bartlett’s “The Diary Of A CEO” that he spent “years and years” pitching to Netflix and its competitors, including Amazon and FX. He explained the persistence in his attempts, stating he chose to finance his own projects instead of investing earned money in luxury goods. “If I’m getting money from these companies and they’re paying me, instead of going and buying a car or another house — maybe nice jewelry and all this stuff — I’m going to invest in myself,” he said. “I decided to just go… [with] all these show ideas that I had, I’m going to do it on YouTube and spend my own money to invest into it.”
