Thokozani – Bhimbi Zanele

Thokozani Langa has released a new song titled “Bhimbi Zanele,” which evokes the traditional Maskandi music many remember from their upbringing.

While the contributions of emerging artists to the Maskandi genre are noteworthy, it is evident that their styles often differ significantly from the traditional sound. This evolution has led to a gradual departure from the characteristics and essence that originally defined Maskandi music.

This situation underscores the importance of established artists like Thokozani Langa in the contemporary music scene. With over twenty years in the industry, he remains one of the few active producers capable of creating music that reflects the roots of traditional Zulu music, allowing younger generations of Maskandi fans to experience the classic sound.

“Bhimbi Zanele,” from his album Once View, addresses a relationship in which a woman has left her partner, who conveys his feelings of pain and acceptance.
