Shallipopi Issues A New Statement Regarding The Court Case With Dapper Music

In his recent social media post, Shallipopi explained why he will not comment on his ongoing court case with Dapper Music.

Nigerian artist Crown Uzama, known as Shallipopi, discussed his silence regarding the dispute with his former manager, Damilola Akinwumi, professionally known as Dapper. He stated that he has been advised by his legal team and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to avoid making public comments while the investigation is active.

Previously, Shallipopi accused Dapper of withholding royalties for 46 of his songs, resulting in a public conflict between them. However, he has now indicated that he will refrain from addressing the matter through his music or social media.

In a statement, Shallipopi emphasized that stepping back from public discourse is crucial for the legal process to proceed smoothly. His legal representatives and the EFCC have urged him to trust the investigative process instead of discussing the allegations publicly.

As a consequence, Shallipopi noted that he will no longer address the dispute as he had done recently. He expressed confidence in his claims but recognized that publicly commenting on an active investigation could impede the pursuit of justice. He clarified that his decision to remain silent should not be viewed as retracting his allegations but as an effort to let the relevant authorities manage the case.

The conflict between Shallipopi and Dapper has unfolded publicly in recent weeks, with both parties making assertions regarding their professional relationship. Shallipopi had previously urged Dapper to respond to his allegations and made further remarks concerning the management of his music and finances.

His claims involve accusations of withheld royalties from 46 songs. Dapper has also responded to Shallipopi’s allegations, adding complexity to the situation. The dispute has gained significant attention in Nigeria’s music industry, given the important roles both individuals have played in Shallipopi’s career.

With the EFCC reportedly investigating the matter, Shallipopi appears to be adopting a more cautious stance. He has expressed a desire not to compromise the investigation by continuing to discuss the allegations publicly. Acknowledging the personal nature of the situation due to its impact on his career and livelihood, Shallipopi remains hopeful that the investigation will reveal the truth and facilitate justice.

For now, he has clarified his intention to let the authorities and his legal team address the dispute, signaling a pause in the ongoing public exchanges with Dapper.
