Album: Kunmie – 22

A new chapter starts for Kunmie with the release of his debut studio album, 22, which was made available at midnight on August 14, 2026. The Nigerian R&B and Afrobeats artist follows the success of his 2025 hit “Arike” with a 13-track project that allows his smooth, emotionally driven sound to expand.

Released by CiDAR Africa and AltMusic HQ, with licensing managed by ONErpm, 22 features a mix of established and emerging Nigerian artists. Kunmie maintains his distinct sound while using collaborations to explore various aspects of his artistry.

The album begins with “5AM,” featuring Phyno, and progresses through tracks like “Gorgeous” with Lojay, “Unfiltered” with Wizard Chan, and “Pressure” featuring Zlatan. Additional collaborations include G4ZI on “Laye Mi” and Joeboy on “Solace II.”

In addition to the collaborations, Kunmie performs several solo tracks. “Tonight,” “Confession,” “22,” “Answer Me,” “Prisoner,” “Abeg O,” and “Calvary” allow him to exhibit the melodic and introspective elements of his songwriting.

With a fusion of R&B, Afrobeats, romance, vulnerability, and youthful energy, 22 positions Kunmie as an artist ready to advance beyond the success of “Arike.” This debut provides listeners with a more comprehensive view of his musical identity while laying the groundwork for the next phase of his career.
