Erykah Badu & The Alchemist – Witch Doctor

Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are generating interest for their upcoming collaborative album with the release of their latest single “Witch Doctor.” The track lasts almost six and a half minutes, allowing Badu to explore her vocal style over Alchemist’s soulful, percussion-driven production. She incorporates the concept of a “witch” as a medium, referencing both fictional witches and well-known figures from popular culture. This single follows their earlier release “Next To You” and provides further insight into their unique creative collaboration. The untitled album is scheduled to be released on August 28, having been recorded over a span of 18 months in Dallas and Los Angeles. The project showcases a variety of sounds, including elements of soul, blues, funk, rock, jazz, and underground hip-hop.
