Makhates Groove – Themba Lami ft. TallexQ, NoxieKay & Veyane

South African producer Makhates Groove has introduced a warm, soulful element to the Amapiano genre with his recent release, “Themba Lami.” This collaborative track features TallexQ, NoxieKay, and Veyane.

Released on August 12, 2026, the record embodies a refined aspect of Private School Piano, integrating mellow jazz-inspired elements, atmospheric chords, and deep log drums. Makhates Groove and TallexQ structure the production around a smooth groove, while NoxieKay and Veyane contribute expressive vocals that enhance the song’s emotional depth.

At 4 minutes and 9 seconds, “Themba Lami” develops gradually rather than quickly building to a climax. The layered instrumentation and melodic arrangement create a relaxed sound suitable for late-night listening and mellow Amapiano playlists.

With its well-crafted production and soulful interpretation, “Themba Lami” presents a fresh perspective on the genre while maintaining the rhythmic elements that characterize Amapiano.
