Portable Speaks On Hardship, Calls Out Youth Unity Amid Economic Struggles

Nigerian singer Portable has expressed his concerns regarding the country’s economy, highlighting the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens.

In a video posted online, he talked about the financial struggles many Nigerians are experiencing and encouraged individuals to be vocal about their challenges.

He noted that numerous citizens are enduring significant hardship and emphasized the importance of raising awareness to foster change.

Portable addressed Nigerian youths, criticizing what he perceives as a lack of unity among them. He argued that rather than uniting to advocate for better conditions, young people often work against each other, which undermines efforts for collective progress.

He suggested that this division has exacerbated ongoing societal issues, insisting that unity is crucial for achieving meaningful change.

He stated, “There is oppression in Nigeria. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. I need to talk. I have woken up. Those who are dead will not wake up again. Nigerians are hungry. There is no money in the country. What pains me the most is that these Nigerian youths are all betrayers. They cannot fight for their rights and choose to betray one another. That’s why the late former president Buhari said Nigerian youths are very lazy. There is too much laziness among them…”

His comments have gained significant attention online, contributing to ongoing discussions about economic challenges in the country and youth participation in advocating for accountability and change.
